Sunrise Community, Inc. in Hillsborough County organized an appreciation car parade dedicated to the Direct Support Professionals who work with Sunrise residents. DSPs are critical to the care and assistance of the people which Sunrise supports. DSPs promote dignity, independence, and enable decision-making. They are educators and companions who keep people safe and assist with anything a person would need.
The car parade traveled to twelve homes in the Tampa, Brandon, and Riverview area. Leading the efforts were Ashley Crockett, Brittany Trenker, Rudy Gallucio (Directors of Operation), Jeremy Cardinale, Timothy Phippins (Program Coordinators), Peggie Burton (Registered Nurse), and Kim Northup Wright (Executive Director). Although the car parade was organized to show appreciation to the Direct Support Professionals, the residents of Sunrise also enjoyed the cheering, honking, and signage which permeated the local neighborhoods as the Sunrise team traveled through Hillsborough.
